Our Approach Our approach to search is highly consultative. We have found that frequent communication and constant interaction with our clients is essential. Hence, our consultants work closely with our client throughout all stages of a search. Each search usually requires a three-phased approach : Developing a search strategy. Contacting and screening candidates. Guiding the final decision-making. 1. Developing a Search Strategy In our experience, the best searches require carefully thinking through a specific "search strategy" i.e., (a) defining the required skills and experience needed for each position, and (b) determining where we would look for people with those characteristics. Through interviews and sicussions, we develop a detailed description of the position and gain a clear consensus about the relative importance of the various skills and experience the best candidate should have. 2. Contacting and Screening Candidates In this second phase of our search, we devote our efforts to identifying and screening candidates who meet the requirements. We obtain resumes, interview potential candidates, contact preliminary references, and generally try to qualify the reality of each person´s candidacy for the position. We like to hold frequent progress reviews with our clients as we sort through the field of candidates. We conduct thorough, face-to-face interviews with the most promising candidates, objectively assessing each individual against our client´s requirements, and considering in detail other vital issues such as work experience, educational background, personality managerial style, professional development and achievements, compensation history and expectations. In turn, we carefully interpret the client company, its requirements, working environment, and career opportunities for the candidates. 3. Guiding the final decision-making The third phase of our search involves the development of a short list of candidates and the selection of the finalists, for interviewing. Backgrounds, professional credentials, education, and references of all candidates are carefully and extensively investigated. At the clients request, we conduct reference checks with the final candidates´ former colleagues, including peers, supervisors, and subordinates who are able to comment in-depth upon leadership abilities, integrity, competence, performance, achievements, and personal characteristics. We then arrange for your personal interviews with the most outstanding individuals, coordinating schedules, and making other appropriate logistical arrangements. We provide both you and each candidate with feedback during this critical stage and provide the opportunity for you and your organization to come to know the final candidates well. Each final candidate has individual, personal, professional, and compensation requirements. After your final selection of candidates, we will help you structure a compensation package that will be attractive and fair and will meet the candidate´s special needs. This is a crucial stage during which good candidates may be lost, and we often work out details, which may have a significant bearing on the final acceptance of the offer.
